The saying, “you talk the talk but can you walk the walk,” should really be changed to, “can you talk the talk and walk the walk.” It’s easy to listen to a few songs and pick five out that call to your inner Kpop fan, and it is easy to sit behind a screen and learn the names (both stage and birth) and faces of a twelve or thirteen member group, but that does not mean that a person has any clue what is going on when face to face with a Kpop fan. Kpop fans or the Fandom as they shall be referred to, have like many other fandoms today created their own unique way to communicate with each other. However, one can expect pieces of Korean to be thrown in, this is what forms their own special language. If a member of the Fandom is ever met in person it can often feel like they are only speaking in Korean because some English words are even given completely different meanings. Do not fret there is hope, here is a list of words that a person must know to talk the talk in the Kpop or Kdrama fandom world.
